I am Denise Ennett, a mom, a public-education advocate, a community activist, and a lifelong resident of District 36. I am running for State Representative because we need a legislator who will fight for public schools, prioritize affordable healthcare, make our neighborhoods safer, and improve economic opportunities. As the mother of three children, one with special needs, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette recently described me as a "homemaker." I am a homemaker and so much more. Like generations of black women before me, I do the work that needs to be done - in my family, my community, my church, my kids' schools, and the halls of government. Whether that means rolling up my sleeves to plant trees and clean up abandoned lots in our neighborhoods or testifying before the Arkansas General Assembly and the State Board of Education to fight for public schools, I show up. Yes, I am a homemaker and a leader, a black woman and a volunteer, a mom and a political activist. District 36 needs a representative that can deliver meaningful results because our community can no longer just get by. If our neighborhoods are going to thrive, it will take big ideas and bold leadership. I get it; I grew up here and am raising my children here. We need transformative leadership, and there is no one who will fight quite like a mother fighting for the future. I need your support to bring that passion and drive to the Arkansas State Capitol.
As past President of the Downtown Neighborhood Association, I know how important small business is to the economic survival of every community.
